5.2.1
Lift car lighting should be sufficient to illuminate the area and to ensure safe usage.

5.2.2
It is recommended that service lift lobbies be separated from areas accessible by guests

5.2.3
Minimum door opening 900mm side or centre opening;
Telephone behind access door/panel;
Minimum one wall mounted handrail at 900mm height;
Control panel with touch sensitive buttons, door open button and Braille symbols/controls;
Equipped to meet requirement for universal usage.
Lifts to have inner and outer doors. Gate access is not permitted.

5.2.4
Minimum Lift speeds:

Hydraulic
3-4 storeys: 25mpm Up, 38mpm Down;
5-7 storeys: 38mpm Up, 53mpm Down.

Electric;
5-15 storeys: 90mpm;
16-21 storeys: 105mpm;
Above 21 storeys, by specific usage analysis subject to Scandic approval.

5.2.5
The requirement, capacity and location of all lifts will be determined based on the individual overall hotel facilities and layout planning.

5.2.6
All lifts must comply with the requirement for use by people with disabilities.

5.2.7 Lifts should be equipped with key-card systems to avoid unauthorized usage
